Destination Wedding Photographer // Kayla & Charlie, Kauai

Having the chance to travel to Kauai for a wedding was a dream to say the very least.  I've wanted to go to Hawaii for as long as I can remember so getting to shoot a beautiful wedding was the cherry on top.  Kayla and Charlie met while working as lifeguards in Minneapolis one summer and the rest is history. Kauai is home to Kayla's grandma, uncle, and aunt, and is where her mother grew up as well.  Since it was a destination wedding for most of the guests, Kayla and Charlie kept their day low key with around 50 guests and had lots of activities planned for their friends  and family like beach days, hikes, and a food truck welcome reception during the days surrounding the wedding.  The ceremony took place at Kayla's grandma's church and the reception followed at a a pavilion at Poipu Beach Park.  Kayla woke up bright and early the day of her wedding to decorate the pavilion with hand made decorations she and Charlie had been working on for months leading up to the day with the help of friends before getting herself ready. The ceremony and reception started earlier than most weddings and was wrapped up right before sunset.  I couldn't pass up doing some sunset portraits with these two babes especially because we were right on the beach, we even had a sea turtle join us towards the end!  I can't thank you both enough for having me along!  Here's to kicking off the 2018 wedding season!
